Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Civil or Structural CAD Technician to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings and schematics for civil and structural projects using advanced CAD software. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative infrastructure projects, supporting the design and construction process with accurate and comprehensive CAD models. Candidates should possess strong drafting skills, construction experience, and familiarity with industry-standard tools to ensure project success.
Duties
- Develop detailed civil and structural drawings, schematics, and models using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.
- Create 2D and 3D representations of project components, including site layouts, foundation plans, and structural frameworks.
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to interpret design concepts and translate them into precise technical drawings.
- Utilize SketchUp, NavisWorks, Civil 3D, and other tools to enhance project visualization and coordination.
- Prepare construction documents, including plans, sections, elevations, and details that meet project specifications and standards.
- Assist in reviewing design drawings for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry codes.
- Support project teams by providing drafting expertise during various phases of design development and construction documentation.
- Maintain organized CAD files and ensure version control throughout project lifecycle.
Experience
- Proven experience in civil or structural drafting with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; experience with Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, SketchUp, NavisWorks, Civil 3D is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with schematics creation, construction documentation, and 2D animation techniques related to civil/structural projects.
- Prior construction experience is a plus to better understand field requirements and project workflows.
- Strong knowledge of drafting standards, building codes, and industry best practices.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail coupled with effective communication skills for collaborative project work.

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
