Position Overview
The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and profitability of the dealership. This includes oversight of all departments, including Sales, Finance, Service, Parts, and Administration.
The successful candidate will create a culture of accountability, urgency, and customer focus while ensuring operational excellence throughout the dealership.
This position requires a decisive leader who is comfortable making difficult decisions, identifying opportunities quickly, and driving execution across all departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all dealership operations with a focus on profitability, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement.
- Establish clear goals, expectations, and performance standards for all departments.
- Develop and mentor department managers while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Effectively delegate responsibilities while maintaining oversight of key performance indicators.
- Monitor and drive performance in vehicle sales, fixed operations, finance, and customer retention.
- Analyze financial statements and operational metrics to identify opportunities and address challenges.
- Ensure exceptional customer experiences throughout the dealership.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top talent.
- Work closely with Century Auto Group leadership to execute strategic initiatives and achieve business objectives.
- Maintain strong relationships with Honda Canada and ensure compliance with all manufacturer standards and programs.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Proven automotive leadership experience as a General Manager, General Sales Manager, or senior dealership executive.
- Strong understanding of dealership financials and operational management.
- Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams and achieving business targets.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and delegation skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to create accountability while maintaining a positive and professional culture.
- Experience working with manufacturer programs and performance metrics.
