Data Science and Analytics Specialist, HCG Engagement Group

Overview
The Data Science and Analytics Specialist, Engagement Group will use and apply data to produce actionable insights that drive greater customer and market understanding to inform pitches, brand strategies, and achieve improved customer engagement.
They work closely with the Digital Strategist and Omnicom Health Group Data Team to support the wider team of strategists, medical teams and client service teams by creation of actionable insights to support data-driven decisions. They support both new business opportunities and client projects. They have strong expertise in working with structured and unstructured qualitative and quantitative data. They have an understanding of the healthcare landscape, including prescribing and claims data. They are problem solvers who have a demonstrated record of producing actionable insights from data. They have an understanding of metrics and analytics for digital tactics, as well as working with customer behaviour data
They are responsible for mining and analyzing data from multiple sources (including our in-house data platform, OmniHealth), preparing reports summarizing findings. These reports allow strategists to prepare insights to help clients and brand teams make better strategic decisions, and helping to plan, collect and analyze appropriate metrics and KPIs, together with the Digital Engagement Strategy team. They are able to make recommendations for the data mining and analytics approach based on business objectives and work with other Data Scientists to achieve this.
Key Requirements
Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, IT, MBA, or an equivalent scientific/commercial discipline
3-5 years of experience in data science required (can be outside healthcare), some agency experience is preferred
Pharma/healthcare, or Life Science, industry expertise is preferred, but not essential
Highly proficient in Excel, PowerQuery and Access
Proficient in PowerPoint, Tableau, PowerBI or similar
Fluent in understanding data analysis visualization and interpretation
Comfortable formulating actionable insights and recommendations from data analysis in accordance to the business challenges, and preparing these into into presentations (using PowerPoint, Tableau, etc.) and presenting results to the wider team
Effective organizational skills and ability to plan and manage own workload
Ability to work with different types of data (structured and unstructured) and be flexible and adaptable to find solutions
Self-motivation, proactivity and ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Strong communication, analytical, presentation, and problem-solving skills
Understanding of marketing and communications, especially in healthcare desirable, as is understanding of healthcare claims and EMR data
Experience/certification with Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Doubleclick preferred
Experience analyzing and developing statistical models a plus
Experience with SnowFlake is a plus
Key Responsibilities
Collating data from our various sources (primarily prescription, claims and behaviour data), analyzing and preparing reports based on the data to help guide insights and strategy
Data collation and analysis to better understand the our healthcare professional audience behaviours, preferences, drivers, motivations, etc.
Understand requirements for data analytics projects, craft approach and complete the analyses
Supporting internal and external teams by taking research briefs, suggesting and executing research strategies and analyzing the results to support new business opportunities and client work
Work with internal data tools and external partners to acquire and work with different types of data and information, from prescription data, to surveys and audience behaviors
Training and knowledge sharing with colleagues through SOPs and best practice for data and metrics
Data management and analysis, including standardizing data, data cleansing, loading and managing data visualization tools
Create data visualizations and reports for agency clients, that will ultimately be presented to end customers by the agency
Work closely with analyst teams from across multiple agencies in the network
Contribute to client data analytics assignments and participate in client meetings as appropriate
Understanding and analysis of metrics and KPIs
