Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional food service in a healthcare environment. The Dietary Aide will play a crucial role in supporting the nutritional needs of residents in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and hospitals. This position involves working closely with kitchen staff to ensure that meals are prepared, served, and maintained according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to residents, ensuring that all food is presented attractively and meets dietary requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Help with washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment to ensure a clean working environment.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting positively with residents during meal times, addressing any concerns or special requests.
- Support the kitchen team by restocking supplies as needed and assisting with inventory management.
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure the safety and quality of food served.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in food service and dietary needs.
Experience
- Previous experience in the food industry or food service is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with kitchen operations, including food preparation techniques and sanitation practices.
- Experience working in a hospital, assisted living facility, or nursing home setting is considered an asset.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents and team members.
- A commitment to helping others and providing high-quality care through nutrition.
