Job Summary
The Installation Assessment Consultant supports customers through the assessment, quoting, and material planning stages of exterior renovation projects. This role conducts in store and on-site consultations, prepares accurate and fair quotes, ensures projects align with NorStar’s installation standards, and coordinates with internal teams to deliver a premium customer experience. The Consultant represents NorStar with professionalism, knowledge-based understanding of the clients needs, and a commitment to accuracy, communication, and superior customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Provide expert advice on renovation and construction processes, ensuring client needs are met effectively
- Deliver engaging product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits to potential clients
- Assess clients' project needs to determine building product feasibility and provide accurate estimates.
- Manage client accounts by maintaining organized records of assessments, proposals, and follow-ups
- Demonstrate a positive, friendly, proactive, and approachable attitude.
- Represent NorStar professionally at community events, trade shows, and product knowledge sessions.
- Attend sales meetings and stay informed on product updates, promotions, and operational priorities.
- Attend product knowledge training sessions to stay current on materials, installation requirements, and new innovations.
- Welcome, assist, and support customers in the showroom and at the front counter when required.
- Provide knowledgeable guidance on products, installation requirements, timelines, and pricing.
- Clearly communicate installation limitations, lead times, and any site-specific considerations that may affect scope or scheduling.
- Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the entire sales cycle by preparing accurate quotes, work orders, letters, and locating merchandise or samples.
- Respond to all correspondence within one business day and document communications as required.Support marketing initiatives by participating in product demos and promotional events
- Support the General Manager with sales promotions, new product launches, and other assigned tasks.
- Provide excellent customer service through clear communication and professional interactions.
- Ensure projects are sold within NorStar’s standards of installation, reflecting proper methods, materials, and best practices.
- Maintain consistency and accuracy in all quoting and documentation.
- Collect outstanding customer amounts to ensure accounts remain in good standing, as directed by the General Manager and or the Installation Assessment Co-Ordinator.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in outside sales, retail sales, or account management within renovation or construction industries
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of high-end sales success
- Experience with product demos, upselling techniques, and customer service excellence
- Knowledge of renovation projects, construction processes, and related technical skills
- Effective communication skills in English; additional language skills are a plus
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to site assessments
- Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Communicate professionally with all team members, leaders, and customers
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Willingly be comfortable with changes including customer decisions re: product and materials
This role is integral to delivering exceptional client experiences while driving sales growth through expert assessments and technical support.
Pay: $50,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
