Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Field Service Technician to join our team. This role involves hands-on work with automotive service equipment, on-site at customer locations throughout the GTA.
This position includes a structured, paid training period (if required), where you will work alongside an experienced technician to develop the skills required for independent field service work. Candidates with prior experience may progress more quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and remove automotive hoists and compressors
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
- Read and interpret manuals and technical documents
- Travel to customer locations throughout Ontario
- Work collaboratively with technicians and service managers
- Assist with equipment assembly and shop-related tasks when required
Travel Requirements
- Regular travel within Ontario, mostly GTA/Southern Ontario
- Primarily GTA-based service calls
- Occasional out-of-town work (if interested)
- All travel expenses covered (hotel, per diem)
Applicants must be comfortable with travel.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanically inclined
- Able to perform physically demanding work
- Responsible, reliable, and honest
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Steel toe footwear required
Assets (Preferred but Not Required)
- Experience with mechanical repairs
- Hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge
- Millwright or trade certification
- Prior experience with automotive equipment
Physical Requirements
This role is physically demanding and includes:
- Standing for extended periods
- Kneeling, lifting, and working in tight spaces
- Working at various angles and positions
