Field Service Technician

About the Role
Canam Waste Products is seeking an experienced and reliable Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a wide range of equipment — from small machinery to heavy industrial units. You will travel to client sites to perform service calls, ensuring our customers' equipment is operating safely and efficiently. This is a Monday-to-Friday position with no evenings, weekends, or overnight work required.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform on-site service, maintenance, and repair of small to heavy equipment at client locations
· Diagnose mechanical and operational issues accurately and carry out effective repairs
· Travel to service call locations as required (day trips only; no overnight travel)
· Operate and handle a variety of power tools safely and proficiently
· Maintain accurate service records and complete all required documentation following each call
· Communicate clearly with clients regarding work performed and any follow-up required
· Maintain company vehicle and tools in clean, organized, and safe working condition
· Follow all health, safety, and company protocols on every job site
· Perform minor welding tasks as required (an asset)
· Support the internal team with general maintenance and equipment checks as needed
Requirements
· Valid Class G driver's licence — required
· Demonstrated experience working with power tools in a professional setting — required
· Hands-on background with small to heavy equipment (waste, industrial, construction, or related fields preferred)
· Ability to travel locally/regionally for day service calls
· Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
· Minor electrical experience is considered a strong asset
· Minor welding experience is considered an asset
· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in the field
· Professional, customer-focused attitude when representing the company on-site
Schedule & Working Conditions
· Monday to Friday only — no evenings, no weekends, no overnight work
· Field-based role involving travel to client sites
· Physical role requiring lifting, bending, and working in varied outdoor/industrial environments
