Newstead Academy is seeking an experienced and passionate Kindergarten Teacher to join our growing academic early learning program.
This position is ideal for educators who believe young children are capable of strong academic growth through structured, engaging, and developmentally appropriate teaching.
Our Kindergarten program places a strong emphasis on:
- Early literacy and phonics
- Guided reading
- Handwriting development
- Foundational math skills
- School readiness and academic confidence
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver structured daily lessons in literacy and math
- Teach phonics, guided reading, handwriting, and foundational numeracy
- Support children in developing independent learning habits
- Track and communicate student progress with families
- Maintain an organized, nurturing, and academically engaging classroom
- Collaborate with classroom team members and administration
- Prepare learning materials and homework assignments
Qualifications
- RECE certification or OCT
- Previous experience teaching Kindergarten or early elementary students
- Strong understanding of phonics-based reading instruction
- Experience with structured academic programs and guided reading
- Confident classroom management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for helping children build academic confidence and a love of learning

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
