As a Security Systems Integration Specialist, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and integration of electronic security systems, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related low-voltage infrastructure. This role ensures systems remain fully operational, reliable, and aligned with client expectations, company standards, and industry best practices.

Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and commission security systems including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.

Perform advanced system integration across multiple platforms, ensuring interoperability between hardware, software, and third-party systems.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues involving software, hardware, and network communications.

Support and maintain networked security devices, including IP cameras, controllers, and edge devices within LAN/WAN environments.

Conduct system diagnostics and performance optimization for integrated solutions.

Perform preventative maintenance, system upgrades, and firmware updates to ensure optimal system performance.

Collaborate with project managers, service department, engineers, and clients to validate system functionality and integration requirements.

Provide technical support during system design, deployment, and post-installation phases.

Document configurations, network architecture, and integration workflows.

Ensure compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.

Deliver training and handover support to end users where required.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to technicians, supporting skills development and knowledge sharing across the team.

Assist with complex commissioning activities, advanced troubleshooting, and integration support for enterprise-level systems.

Promote consistency in system programming, documentation standards, and service best practices across projects and teams.

Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, improve system reliability, and enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements

5+ years of experience in integrated security systems or low-voltage environments.

Strong system programming and commissioning experience (required for senior-level candidates).

Proven experience leading installation and service projects.

Solid troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networked systems.

Experience working with integrated platforms such as ICT, DSC, KEYSCAN, Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Milestone, AMAG, Kantech, Gallagher, or similar.

Strong understanding of IP networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing basics).

Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet project timelines and budgets.

Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.

Post-secondary education in electronics or a related technical field is preferred.

Valid TQ certification (or in progress).

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Ability to work night shifts (10%-25% as required).

Proficient in the safe and proper use of hand and power tools.
