The mine is located a short drive from Wawa, deep in the forest where it is scenic and quiet. It is a real ‘boots on the ground’ setting. Team members reside in a camp environment and typically work on rotations, depending on the position. The camp offers excellent food, a sauna/gym, recreational room and the opportunity to stay connected with family and friends.
Salary Range: $36.44 to $44.87

About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Development Mine Supervisor, the MacLean Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mechanized bolting equipment in underground development headings. The successful candidate will install ground support systems, maintain safe working conditions, and contribute to achieving daily development targets while adhering to all safety and operational standards.

You are a safety-focused underground mining professional with experience operating mechanized bolting equipment in active development headings. You have a strong understanding of underground ground support systems and take pride in maintaining safe, productive, and efficient work areas underground.
Position Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Job Duties

Operate MacLean bolters and related underground mobile equipment safely and efficiently in active development headings.

Install primary and secondary ground support including rock bolts, screen, mesh, and other support systems according to ground control standards and mine plans.

Inspect headings and scale loose rock to ensure safe working conditions before and during bolting activities.

Conduct pre-operational inspections and complete daily equipment checks, logbooks, and maintenance reports.

Perform minor troubleshooting and routine maintenance on bolting equipment.

Read and interpret mine plans, ground support patterns, and supervisor instructions.

Assist with development activities including face preparation, ventilation installation, service extensions, and heading rehabilitation as required.

Maintain effective communication with supervisors, jumbo operators, scoop operators, mechanics, and other crew members to support production goals.

Follow all company policies, procedures, and applicable Ontario mining regulations.

Participate in workplace inspections, hazard identification, and safety meetings.

Maintain clean and organized work areas underground.

Perform other underground development duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience

Relevant Ontario Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core modules or equivalent provincial certification required.

Specialty Module U0018 – Operate Mechanized Rock Bolter considered an asset or required.

Previous underground development experience operating MacLean bolters preferred.

Ability to safely operate scoop tram would be an asset

Jackleg and stoper experience would be an asset

Strong understanding of ground support installation and underground development cycles.

Experience working in remote underground mining environments considered an asset.

Ability to work safely in physically demanding and confined underground conditions.

Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and productivity.

Ability to work rotational shifts and extended hours as required.
-
Valid driver’s license preferred.
Working Conditions / Schedule
Location: Eagle River Complex
Shift / Hours of Work: 10-hour shifts
Schedule / Rotation: 14 days on, 14 days off
Type of Hire: Permanent Full-Time
