Jenike & Johanson is seeking a Structural Engineer with 5+ years of experience with industrial design in steel, reinforced concrete and aluminum structures to work out of our Toronto Office. The Structural Engineer will work efficiently to execute a wide range of engineering assignments to ensure our clients’ needs are satisfied and, at the same time, thrilled with the results.
Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analyses and designs of bulk solids handling equipment and storage structures in accordance with current codes and industrial standards.
- Conduct structural integrity assessments, stress and fatigue analyses, as well as failure investigations.
- Develop project scopes and proposals.
- Prepare structural design calculations, technical specifications, and detailed engineering reports.
- Perform domestic and international site visits for structural inspections and supervise construction/installation.
- Review and stamp structural drawings and documents
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural design focus
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial design experience in steel, reinforced concrete and aluminum structures.
- Must be a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with a Canadian provincial or territorial regulatory body or be eligible for immediate registration.
- French language proficiency and / or current registration as an Engineer (ing.) with OIQ would be preferred.
- Knowledge of Eurocode EN 1991-4, National Building Code of Canada (NBCC), CSA S16, ACI 313, ASCE, AISC and AWS Codes and Standards.
- AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience
- Skilled in structural analysis software such as RISA, Compress and ANSYS.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have a valid driver’s license and passport, with the ability to travel internationally.
