Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Psychotherapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide mental health support, conduct assessments, and develop treatment plans tailored to diverse patient needs. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on patient-centered care, with a special emphasis on working with children and pediatric populations. The Registered Psychotherapist will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote mental well-being and recovery. This role will be mainly child ad teen based, along with parent coaching.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual, group, and family psychotherapy sessions with patients across various age groups, including children and adolescents.
- Perform comprehensive assessments to identify psychological needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure effective case management.
- Collect and analyze data related to patient progress, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary.
- Maintain detailed documentation of therapy sessions, treatment outcomes, and patient records in compliance with confidentiality standards.
- Engage in ongoing research and professional development activities to stay current with best practices in psychotherapy and pediatric mental health.
- Support patients in developing coping skills, behavioral strategies, and emotional resilience.
- Educate families and caregivers about mental health conditions, treatment options, and supportive interventions.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children and pediatric populations in clinical settings.
- Knowledge of hospital procedures and experience working within healthcare environments is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to mental health and pediatrics.
- Ability to perform case management duties effectively, including coordinating care across multiple providers.
- Skilled in data collection, analysis, and applying evidence-based practices in therapy.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with patients of all ages as well as their families.
- Familiarity with special education needs and integrating therapeutic approaches accordingly.
- Compassionate approach combined with strong organizational skills to manage multiple cases efficiently. Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Counselling Psychology, Psychotherapy, Social Work, or a related mental health field.
- Registered and in good standing with the appropriate regulatory body in Ontario (e.g., College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, or equivalent).
Pay: $60.00-$90.00 per hour
