This role is central to supporting investors' CMHC-insured securitization processes, supporting internal pool administration, and ensuring accurate & timely reporting under CMHC's securitization programs. The successful candidate will also contribute to operational efficiency, system enhancements, and data-driven analysis across multiple business functions at Canada ICI.
The position requires a strong combination of technical execution, analytical skills, regulatory awareness, and excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Key responsibilities include facilitating the execution of investors’ securitization issuance, ongoing pool administration, and preparing timely reports for investors, CMHC, and custodian. The role also demands strong ability to interpret and analyze financial and operational data effectively.
This position will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders, including Canada ICI’s Asset Management Group (AMG), CMHC, Computershare, investors, third-party system providers (e.g., TAO Systems), and external auditors. The individual must be able to work independently, thrive in a fast-paced and highly deadline-driven environment, take initiative, and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills are a must.
The Pool Administration & Credit Analyst role is full-time in person at our St. Albert office.

Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Business Administration Economics, or a related field; MBA or professional designation (e.g., CFA, CPA) preferred.

Minimum two (2) years relevant experience in mortgage administration, securitization, portfolio management, and/or financial analysis.

Strong computer proficiency, with advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite

Understanding of financial instruments, securitized mortgages and associated processes is a strong asset but not required.

Strong analytical skills and quick learning capability.

Experience with CMHC securitization is a strong asset but not required.
Pool Administrator Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the VP, CSI to assist investors in creating, issuing, and settling new NHA MBS pools utilizing TAO System’s mortgageHUB software.
- Develop a thorough understanding of and adhere to CMHC’s NHA MBS and CMB Guidelines and Canada ICI internal procedures and processes.
- Support new securitization initiatives in collaboration with the VP, CSI and Investors’ Capital Markets team and other relevant stakeholders.
- Support internal end-to-end securitization and on-going pool administration process and work collaboratively with Investors’ Capital Markets team, including:
- Pool creation
- NHA MBS Application (CMHC 2812)
- Transmit mortgages to the Custodian
- Pool Cut generation and Profile Extracts (2824)
- Draft and final Information Circulars (2834)
- Pool Servicing Agreements (2814)
- Schedule of Subscribers (2830)
- Troubleshooting
- Other duties as assigned
Business Analytics & Strategic Support:
- Gather, interpret, and visualize financial and operational data and KPIs to support strategic decisions and prepare reports for management.
- Track and evaluate business unit performance against financial goals and analyze variances.
- Identify trends, risks and opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.
- Assist in scenario planning, market research and business case development.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives by providing financial insights and modeling.
- Support the COO and VP, CSI in developing templates, internal policy documents, process maps and research reports.
