Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Technologist to join our team. In this vital role, you will champion quality management processes across manufacturing operations, ensuring products meet rigorous standards. Your expertise will drive quality control, inspection, and assurance initiatives that uphold our reputation for excellence.
Responsible for interactions related to the monitoring, investigation and resolution of product or process quality concerns. Responsible for the implementation of the quality assurance program.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
· Performing incoming product quality inspections to isolate product that does not meet BVI standards
· Management of sorting and containment activities in response to production rejections
· Identifying problems and concerns in manufacturing/assembly and providing suggestions for improvements
· Investigation of production quality issues using root cause analysis methodology
· Liaising with suppliers, production, engineering, and service as necessary to improve overall product quality, resolve product concerns, and prevent production disruptions
· Creating NCR reports and communicating with local and international suppliers, including working with suppliers to return non-conforming product as required and to recover costs of returned or internally reworked parts
· Management of quality (BVQ) inventory both physically and electronically
· Performing other duties as directed by the Quality Supervisor
Qualifications:
· Technologist Diploma/Certificate in Quality Assurance or Quality Control preferred or equivalent work experience
· Experience with inspection and investigation of product and process quality issues, for both purchased and manufactured products
· Strong computer skills. Ability to work with Microsoft Office is an asset
· Strong problem solving abilities and attention to detail
· General knowledge of blue print reading
· Strong time management and organizational skills
· Strong communication skills both written and verbal
· Team player who is motivated by challenges
· Ability to lift light to medium weight materials
· Experience with ISO 9000 certification is an asset
· General knowledge of shop floor safety rules and regulations preferred
