The role of the Assistant Housekeeping Manager is to assist the Housekeeping Manager in the efficient and effective overall running of the housekeeping department. They are to ensure the comfort of guests in our hotels and lodges by assisting the Housekeeping Manager in the training, coaching and development of the housekeeping team to ensure that guest rooms and public areas are clean and properly presented. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager must promote a positive image of the property to guests and staff, and must be pleasant, friendly and able to address problems or special requests.

Manage all housekeeping staff including supervisors, ensuring all required duties are being performed to a high standard

Assist in the hiring of seasonal staff including supervisors, team leads and room attendants

Liaise with Front Desk and Management to provide the best experience for guests

Work with supervisors to ensure guest rooms are ready for arrival

Conduct spot inspections to ensure guest rooms and common areas meet standard
- Knowledgeable on the resort and able to give guests accurate information

Planning and Organization

Conduct morning meetings with the supervisors

Oversee supervisors with the daily assigning of teams and tasks
- Ensure all documentation is completed to a high standard

Complete weekly inventory and ordering of stock

Complete scheduling and payroll when assigned

Continuously adapt priorities and responsibilities in response to changing needs
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role.

Basic understanding of Microsoft Suite, reservation and housekeeping software.

Valid Class 5 BCDL required.

Have a clear understanding of the importance of health and safety in the workplace.
