Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role is essential in creating a positive dining experience and maintaining smooth restaurant operations. Prior experience in hospitality or food service is preferred, but we welcome motivated individuals eager to learn. Strong communication skills, excellent phone etiquette, and a passion for guest service are key qualities for success in this position.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage waitlists efficiently
- Escort guests to their tables and present menus
- Handle reservations and seating arrangements using POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Answer phone inquiries professionally and assist with reservation bookings or general questions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service
- Manage guest flow during busy hours to reduce wait times
- Provide information about menu items, specials, and restaurant policies as needed
- Assist with other front-of-house duties to support overall guest satisfaction
Skills
- Proven experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality environments preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service abilities
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Knowledge of food service operations and restaurant procedures
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and demeanor suitable for hospitality settings
- Previous hotel or restaurant experience is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for learning is valued
