We are hiring a full-time Specialized 1:1 Residential Counsellor to provide dedicated support to an individual with complex medical and physical needs in a suported living setting.
This is a highly specialized role where you will:
- Work one-on-one with an individual who requires consistent, skilled support
- Receive advanced training in complex care, medication administration, and specialized interventions
- Play a key role in enhancing quality of life, promoting independence, and fostering meaningful engagement

What You’ll Do
- Support an individual one-on-one in their daily life, ensuring comfort, dignity, and quality of care
- Provide personal care, including feeding, bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Assist with mobility, lifts, and transfers, following individualized care plans
- Administer medications and follow complex medical protocols (training provided)
- Engage the individual in meaningful activities that promote independence and social interaction
- Communicate effectively with families, healthcare professionals, and the ORH team
- Ensure a safe and respectful environment by following policies and safety procedures
Who Should Apply?
- Developmental Service Workers (DSWs) strongly preferred
- Personal Support Workers (PSWs), Early Childhood Educators (ECEs), and other healthcare professionals are encouraged to apply
- Experience in the Developmental Services sector is an asset
- Experience in a specialized care setting is an asset
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable individuals who want to make a difference
- Those eager to receive specialized training and develop advanced skills in complex care
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and/or complex medical needs is preferred
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently in a one-on-one setting while collaborating with a care team
- Completion of First Aid/CPR and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training is an asset
- Willingness to complete medication administration and specialized one-on-one training

Pay: $24.28-$26.83 per hour
