Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Baker to join our team for the busy fire season. Fireweed provides catering and janitorial services for the Ministry of Fores Lands and Natural Resource and Wildfire Management Branch. We create and service outstanding gourmet meals and baked goods for the WMB while maintaining a safe, clean work, and rest environment.
Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, and bread, ensuring high-qaulity standards
- Assist with food preperation tasks such as mixing, measuring, and assembling incredients
- Maintaine cleanliness and organziation of the kitchen area, adhearing to food safety protocols
- Package baked goods while ensuring production presentation meets company standards
- Follow all food handling and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers
- Support the team during busy periods by efficiently managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Experience
- Proven experience in a camp or hospitality environment
- Strong knowlenedge of food preparation, baking, and food handling procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment, food safety standards, and proper packaging methods
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Requirements

- Food Safe Level 1 certificate (mandatory)
- Valid drivers license and vehicle or reliable form of transportation
- Willing to work flexible hours
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous camp or hospitality experience
- Physical capabilities of working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in remote locations
