About QuitNow
At QuitNow, we empower clients to quit or reduce tobacco and nicotine and support them throughout their cessation journey. Through a partnership between the Ministry of Health and the BC Lung Foundation, QuitNow has provided tobacco cessation services to people in BC for close to 20 years. At QuitNow, we support every client no matter where they are in their quit journey. We support clients thinking about quitting, clients who are ready to quit, and clients who have already quit and wish to prevent a return to commercial tobacco and nicotine. We also offer training to health care providers to effectively support their clients looking to transition away from commercial tobacco and nicotine.
About this role
Position Reports to: Manager of Marketing and Communications
The Social Media Content Coordinator is responsible for working collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications Team to create digital and social media content, engage on social media platforms, and stay in the know on the latest trends in digital marketing. This is an entry position with the opportunity to learn and gain experience.
About You
- Your communications skills are top-notch, whether that’s in written form through short and captivating captions or verbally in sharing your ideas with others
- You can work collaboratively with a small team as well as independently, always striving to be a team player with kindness and professionalism
- You have an innate eye for design that you’ve trained by understanding latest trends
- You have an outstanding knowledge of all things social: the channels, their content and their users
- Your background is in content creation, marketing, advertising, graphic design, and/or video creation
- You have a strong ability to multitask with excellent time management skills
- You are a creative and innovative thinking with a passion for the work
Main Duties
- Creating weekly video content for social media
- Collaborating with Communications Team to create and execute monthly content calendar
- Bringing fresh ideas for new content and marketing strategies
- Community management and keeping engagement on social media platforms consistent
- Analyzing key insights and data from social channels to leverage successful content
Education and Experience
- University Degree or College Diploma or equivalent training in Marketing/ Communications/ Advertising/ Public Relations or other creative field
- 1-year minimum experience in creating content for social media channels
- Video experience
- Thorough knowledge of social media platforms
- Ability to demonstrate or showcase examples of content created as well as measurable results
- Healthcare, mental health, or non-profit sector experience an asset
Hours and Info
The BC Lung Foundation is located at 2675 Oak St, Vancouver, BC V6H 2K2 and operates on a 4-day work week. Our office is open Monday-Thursday, 8am-5pm. This is a hybrid model position, working from home and in office.
