Job Overview
Set…Cook! Kitchen staff plays a vital role. They are the heart of the café who ensure food products are being sent to customers in the most careful manner. Cooks must combine their skills to build and create a series of menu items simultaneously, to ensure food is being sent out at the right time, as per D Spot Dessert Cafe standards.
Duties
- Staying updated on current menu changes. Stay focused and direct as necessary.
- Responsible for prepping produce, chopping fruits, vegetables, portioning meats, cheese,
- Preparing sauces and ensuring all mixes made and ready to go.
- Ensure that your station is fully equipped stocked and ready to go.
- Responsible to preparing items which are from your station.
- Ensure Customers food is delivered at the right temperature.
- Thoroughly cleaning the kitchen, wiping counters, fridges, waffle irons, crepe grills, under the oven and disposing garbage.
- Unload delivery trucks and store inventory correctly.
- Filling in for absent staff as needed.
- Ensure Uniforms are presentable and clean
- Responsible for dish washing during slower periods.
- Ensuring Food Service standards are met by maintain a hygienic and clean work station
- Wrapping cutlery as needed.
- Working as a team player with fellow staff members to ensure all food items are delivered at the appropriate time and temperature
- Adhering to grooming, appearance and uniform standards consistently.
- Following clear and concise instructions. Duties as assigned.
- Manage time effectively to ensure timely service without compromising quality.
Experience
- Previous experience of 4-6 months in the food industry.
- Familiarity with food preparation and serving practices.
- Food Handlers Certificate is an asset
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
- Must be a team player
- Positive interpersonal skills
- Must be able to list up to 55 lbs
- Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time
- Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance is key.
- Must be honest and work with a great deal of integrity
- Must be able to communicate with managers, staff and customers
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: Up to $17.90 per hour
