We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Electrician Journeyperson to join our team in Guelph. This role is vital to ensuring efficient operations within our facility. Join us and contribute to a company renowned for its durability and innovation.
Hours of Work: 4:20 PM – 2:20 AM, Monday to Thursday
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
- Install, adjust, service, and repair shop equipment, machines, and building installations, including heating, plumbing, electrical, etc.
- Build or assist in building new machinery or equipment.
- Make parts, simple tools, and gauges.
INSTRUCTION & SUPERVISION:
- Works under normal supervision.
- Works from detailed oral or written instructions, specifications, sketches, and blueprints.
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:
- Various standard machine hand tools.
- Measuring instruments such as scales, protractors, squares, micrometers, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DIRECTION EXERCISED:
- Responsible for training other operators.
- Responsible for maintaining quality specifications.
- Responsible for proper service and maintenance of assigned equipment.
SCOPE OF WORK & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Required to install, adjust, service, and repair a variety of machines and equipment.
- Perform general repairs or assist with major repairs to building installations, including heating, plumbing, electrical, etc.
- Assist with major installations, setup, and repair of machines or equipment.
- Operate standard machines to make parts, simple tools, etc.
- Able to perform fairly close-fitting operations.
- Able to perform simple heat-treating operations.
- Drives the company truck on occasion.
- Must be able to perform simple shop calculations.
- Must have some knowledge of commonly used metals.
- Must be a licensed journeyperson and possess a “Certificate of Qualification” in a recognized Electrical trade (442A) and a “CFQ” in a recognized Machine Repair Millwright trade.
- Required to adhere to all applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Must possess a positive customer service attitude and strong communication skills.
