Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components to produce high-quality products. This role requires attention to detail, technical proficiency, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Metal Fabricator will collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure specifications are met and safety standards are maintained.
Duties : What You’ll Be Doing
- Reading blueprints and shop drawings to fabricate both custom and standard signs.
- Cutting and forming metal (aluminum and steel) using saws, shears, and brakes.
- MIG and/or TIG welding—clean, strong, consistent welds are a must.
- Grinding and finishing to a clean, professional standard.
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance and adherence to specifications.
- Assembling components with a high level of precision and attention to detail.
- Pulling material for jobs, tracking usage, and keeping things organized.
- Operating shop equipment: CNC brake, drill press, grinders, etc.
- Conduct daily inspections and light maintenance on machinery.
- Staying on top of safety procedures and keeping your workspace clean.
- Take initiative to identify and resolve fabrication challenges early.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with other fabricators, installers, and project managers.
- Help meet project deadlines with efficient time and task management.
- Support with packaging, loading, or site support as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in metal fabrication or sign manufacturing.
- Past experience in the signage industry is a strong asset.
- Proficient in MIG and/or TIG welding on aluminum and mild steel.
- Excellent understanding of fabrication tools, drawings, and practices.
- Ability to work from technical drawings with precision.
- High attention to detail and quality craftsmanship.
- Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work in an active shop environment.
- Forklift or overhead crane experience is an asset.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions
- Full-time, overtime as needed.
- Primarily indoors, with occasional on-site work or outdoor tasks.
- Typical shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and metalwork.
