Position Summary: The IT Manager at Kipling Group leads and manages the firm’s technology infrastructure, systems administration, and end-user support operations. This role combines strategic IT leadership with hands-on system management and vendor coordination to ensure technology supports business performance, compliance, and growth objectives. A key focus will be on optimizing systems such as Yardi (property management/ERP) and Float (resource planning), while enhancing cybersecurity, data integrity, and digital service delivery.
Responsibilities
· Serve as the lead technology manager across the organization, translating business priorities into IT strategy and operational plans.
· Provide direction and oversight for IT initiatives, technology investments, and future-proofing the organization’s digital capabilities.
· Collaborate with senior leadership and business units to prioritize projects, ensure alignment with strategic goals, and deliver measurable outcomes.
· Systems Architecture and Administration
o Lead administration and optimization of core enterprise systems, including Yardi (Kipling’s information management and reporting system), Windows 365, Float (resource and capacity planning) and other mission-critical applications (CRM, collaboration platforms, document management, and business intelligence tools).
o Manage systems, configurations, user access, workflows, integrations, and ongoing enhancements to maximize business efficiency.
o Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to evaluate, configure, deploy, and upgrade key systems and end user equipment.
o With a view to continuous improvement, evaluate systems architecture annually in conjunction with corporate business plans and budget.
· Infrastructure & Support Operations
o Oversee IT infrastructure (networks, servers, cloud platforms, endpoints) to ensure high reliability, security, and performance.
o Provide both employee onboarding of new systems/equipment and help desk services.
o Track and measure key service metrics (SLAs, ticket resolution times, system uptime) and drive continuous improvement.
· Security & Compliance
o Develop and administer robust cybersecurity policies, access controls, and monitoring to protect sensitive data and ensure regulatory compliance.
o Coordinate user training on security best practices, phishing awareness, and acceptable use policies.
o Work with finance and compliance teams to support audit readiness and technology risk mitigation.
· Third Party Vendors and Contract Management
o Serve as the primary point of contact for technology vendors and service providers.
o Negotiate contracts, manage renewals, monitor performance, and ensure deliverables meet business needs and service expectations.
· Project Management & Implementation
o Lead IT projects from planning through rollout including system upgrades, process improvements, infrastructure deployments, and digital transformation initiatives.
o Create project plans, manage resources, monitor progress, and ensure timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
· 5+ years of progressive IT leadership experience in a Windows 365 environment, preferably in property management, financial services, or a multi-location operations environment.
· Familiarity with Yardi and Float or similar planning tools an asset.
· Solid understanding of cloud technology, networks, servers, data storage, cybersecurity frameworks, and system integration.
· Strong project management experience with a track record of delivering complex technology initiatives on time and on budget.
· Excellent communication skills with a customer-service mindset and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
