JOB SUMMARY
The Social Worker/Registered Therapist 1 – Youth Justice operates the Early Intervention Program in then the youth criminal courts across Niagara. The Therapist establishes effective linkages between the youth, youth criminal courts and appropriate community resources. The youth are screened and triaged, issues and concerns are identified, a service plan is agreed upon and put into action. In addition, the Therapist will conduct Choice and Partnership appointments to support the implementation of the CAPA (Choice and Partnership Approach) model at Pathstone.
QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S.W., or related discipline
- Registered as a Social Worker with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or Registered as a Psychotherapist with the College of Psychotherapists or registered with an appropriate regulatory body;
- 3 -4 years relevant clinical experience;
- Experience and / or training in evidence-based therapeutic interventions;
- Familiarity with offering services via virtual platforms (i.e. email, text, online counselling) would be considered an asset;
- If direct virtual supports are unfamiliar then an understanding of the various forms of virtual care as well as an understanding of clinical and privacy responsibilities would be an asset;
- Good communication and organizational skills;
- A current Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check within six (6) months;
- Bilingual in (French and English) is preferred;
- Experience working with the Indigenous population is an asset;
- Valid driver’s license, able to supply own vehicle, and be insurable to drive in Ontario
