EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Degree in Human Resources or a related discipline, and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in benefits, disability leave plans, and employee records administration, preferably in a large, unionized environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Achievement of the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation is an asset.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Advanced knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, methods and techniques of the human resources field, with emphasis on benefits and employee records administration.
Advanced knowledge of relevant employment standards and other regulatory requirements.
Advanced interpersonal and communication skills with ability to address the sensitivity of compensation issues, and to provide specialized expertise, advice and guidance to all levels of the organization
Advanced planning and organizational skills to develop and manage enterprise-wide programs and services
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to oversee assessment of compensation matters, including job evaluation, and to manage related solutions and decisions
Solid people management and leadership skills, with the ability to manage directly and indirectly reporting staff, including coaching, development, work direction, performance management, and related people management practices.
