Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to ensure a smooth flow of service
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems, ensuring clarity and attention to detail
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations, upselling specials and beverages to enhance the guest experience
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities, while maintaining proper sanitation and food safety protocols
- Maintain cleanliness by bussing tables promptly and assisting with food preparation or kitchen support as needed
- Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly and fostering positive guest relations throughout the dining experience
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs or upscale restaurants
- Strong knowledge of POS systems for efficient order processing and reservations management
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and handle guest inquiries professionally
- Culinary experience or familiarity with food handling, sanitation standards, and basic food preparation techniques
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy shifts while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to increase sales and enhance guest satisfaction
- Prior host/hostess or bussing experience is a plus, along with basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
