Position Summary

Quinte Health is seeking a Facility Maintenance Representative to join our Facilities team. In this role, you'll help maintain the critical infrastructure that keeps our hospitals operating safely and efficiently. From HVAC and building automation systems to plumbing, mechanical equipment and medical gas systems, you'll work on a wide variety of equipment in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
This position offers the opportunity to work primarily Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with participation in an on-call rotation to support essential hospital operations.

Licensed tradespeople from industrial, commercial, institutional, and manufacturing environments are encouraged to apply. Previous healthcare experience is considered an asset but is not required.

Required
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Current Certificate of Qualification in one of the following Ontario trades:
- 313A Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic
- Facility Systems Technician (255B) or equivalent
- Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A)
- Construction Millwright (426A)
- Third-Class Operating Engineer
- Minimum three (3) years' related experience maintaining mechanical, electrical and building automation systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety practices and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
- Must have a satisfactory Criminal Record / Vulnerable Sector Check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare facility maintenance experience
- HVAC certification (SMT, BES or equivalent)
- Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- French language proficiency is considered an asset
Duties
- Monitor hospital building systems using the Building Automation System (BAS) and perform routine inspections of mechanical rooms.
- Respond to maintenance service calls and accurately document work performed.
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilding of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and refrigeration equipment.
- Maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning, steam, chilled water, hot water and boiler systems.
- Install, repair and maintain plumbing systems and related equipment.
- Install and maintain hospital equipment using blueprints, specifications and technical manuals.
- Inspect and maintain the hospital locum house and helipad located approximately 5 km from the hospital.
- Maintain medical gas systems, control air systems, dryers and filters.
- Order maintenance materials and coordinate inventory requirements.
- Collaborate with contractors and other trades on maintenance and capital projects.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with all applicable safety standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
