Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight and equipment within local areas, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the safety and security of all cargo. Duties
- Operate commercial vehicles to transport freight, equipment, and materials within designated local routes.
- Safely load and unload cargo using appropriate tools and techniques, including forklift operation when necessary.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance or repairs as needed, including automotive repairs when required.
- Assist with heavy equipment operation for loading or unloading heavy or bulky items.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation activities.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients to coordinate deliveries and pickups.
Skills
- Must be able to drive Manual Truck.
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety standards.
- Basic automotive repair skills for minor vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and route planning.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring safety at all times. This position requires a dedicated individual committed to safe driving practices, efficient freight handling, and excellent customer service. Candidates should possess relevant certifications or experience in forklift operation, heavy equipment operation, or automotive repair to excel in this role.
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
