Overview
The primary role of the Server is to assist in the preparation and serving of meals to Metropolitan Courts' residents and guests. They also help in maintaining the cleanliness in the kitchen and dining area. We ask that you be cheerful, courteous and work well under pressure with kitchen personnel and other workers to succeed. A Server must be energetic, motivated and customer-focused, with a passion for food service.
Duties
- Serving meals to residents and guest in a professional and courteous manner
- Assisting in the setup and preparation of service of various items such as beverages, salads, desserts, etc.
- Setting and clearing dining tables and delivering tray service as required.
- Assisting with cleaning of dishware and cutlery at the conclusion of each seating as required.
- Assisting with maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area as required.
- Assisting with catering and actively particpating in special occasions and themed events.
- Assisting in the orientation and training of new dietary employees.
- Following and complying with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures.
Skills
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude
- Demonstrated hospitality mindset with a focus on guest services and upselling opportunities
- Serving experience an asset
- Must be available weekends, holidays, split shifts
Pay: From $16.50 per hour
