Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Manager to oversee and coordinate all tax-related activities within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and extensive knowledge of accounting and financial services. This role involves managing tax compliance, planning, and reporting, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and supporting overall financial health. The Tax Manager will also collaborate with various departments to optimize financial strategies and maintain accurate records using advanced accounting software.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Oversee and review accounting processes related to tax, including accounts payable, account reconciliation, and bookkeeping activities.
- Conduct thorough analysis of financial data to identify tax-saving opportunities and ensure accurate reporting.
- Manage audits by external agencies, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Implement and monitor internal controls related to tax procedures and financial reporting.
- Collaborate with finance teams on budgeting, investment analysis, and financial planning initiatives.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other relevant tools to maintain precise records.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that could impact the organization’s financial strategies.
- Provide guidance on payroll processing, ensuring compliance with tax withholding requirements.
- Support training or mentoring staff in accounting practices related to taxation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in tax management within a financial services or accounting environment.
- Strong proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and general bookkeeping tools.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Knowledge of auditing procedures, account reconciliation, accounts payable processes, and payroll management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure compliance and accuracy in all financial activities.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
