Assistant Lodge Manager

Position Overview The Assistant Lodge Manager is a highly operational, hands-on leader who supports front-line teams, keeps daily lodge operations running smoothly, and helps deliver an exceptional guest experience across the property.
Reporting to the General Manager, this role supports day-to-day lodge operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Relations, and other operational areas as required. The successful candidate will be highly visible in the operation, lead by example, remove barriers for team members, and help ensure the lodge runs smoothly, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard.
Key Responsibilities
· Support and oversee the day-to-day operation of the lodge across guest service and operational departments.
· Maintain strong knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
· Provide active, hands-on support to front-line teams to ensure smooth daily operations and exceptional service delivery.
· Step into operational roles as needed to support service standards, team productivity, and guest satisfaction.
· Foster a positive employee culture built on teamwork, accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.
· Lead daily operational meetings, including arrivals, departures, guest issues, staffing priorities, and operational updates.
· Act as Manager on Duty as required.
· Respond to guest concerns, inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
· Support front-line staff in resolving guest issues with confidence, empathy, and urgency.
· Work closely with front-line leaders and team members to ensure departments are set up for success each day.
· Support scheduling and staffing coverage to meet operational needs.
· Lead regular staff briefings, debriefings, and departmental meetings to promote clear communication and alignment.
· Support recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, performance management, and discipline of staff.
· Help remove operational barriers by responding quickly to issues related to staffing, supplies, equipment, and guest needs.
· Support department leaders in ensuring adequate supplies, materials, and equipment are available.
· Assist in maintaining lodge standards across all guest-facing and operational areas.
· Ensure strong communication and coordination between departments throughout the day.
· Maintain awareness of lodge activity and adjust priorities quickly based on operational demands.
· Support safe and efficient operations by ensuring health and safety standards, systems, and protocols are followed.
· Help maintain the security of buildings, company assets, and the safety of guests and team members.
· Support completion of operational reports, checklists, logs, and other required documentation.
· Ensure policies, procedures, and standards are consistently followed across departments.
· Maintain strict confidentiality of guest information and company data.
· Operate effectively within time-sensitive and fast-paced operational environments.
Qualifications & Role Requirements
Experience
Minimum 5 years of hotel or hospitality experience, including at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role. Resort, lodge, or seasonal property experience is strongly preferred.
Leadership Style
Hands-on, visible leader who can coach teams, solve problems in real time, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Skills
Strong operational, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Experience with Microsoft Office and hotel or property systems is an asset. Excellent written and verbal English required; additional languages are an asset.
Eligibility
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The Lodge at Bow Lake is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
Compensation & Benefits
· Full-time, salaried seasonal position

Physical Requirements
· Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift
· Frequent bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting
· Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
· Occasional use of stairs, ramps, and ladders
