Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced DZ Driver to operate a 26-foot straight truck. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight to various destinations while ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires a strong focus on safety, vehicle maintenance, and efficient route management. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with commercial driving experience and a passion for heavy equipment operation.
Duties
- Safely operate a 26 ft straight truck in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment, including forklift operation when necessary
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Secure freight properly to prevent damage during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to ensure vehicle readiness
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure personal and team safety during operations
Qualifications
- Valid DZ driver’s license with clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with heavy equipment operation or freight transportation
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery is a plus
- Knowledge of automotive repair or troubleshooting skills is desirable
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to freight handling and vehicle operation
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
