Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled IT Field Technician to provide on-site technical support and maintenance for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer networking, operating systems, and hardware troubleshooting. This role involves resolving technical issues, supporting various platforms including Windows, macOS, and Linux, and ensuring seamless IT operations across multiple client sites. The IT Field Technician will play a critical role in maintaining high customer satisfaction through effective problem-solving and professional communication.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software on client systems, including desktops, laptops, and network devices.
- Provide technical support for operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Resolve issues related to computer networking, LAN/WAN connectivity, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless access points.
- Manage software troubleshooting for applications like Microsoft Office and other productivity tools.
- Configure and maintain network security measures including firewalls and VPN connections.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of network infrastructure including switches, routers, and LAN configurations.
- Document technical issues and resolutions accurately within ticketing systems; communicate effectively with clients to ensure clear understanding of solutions provided.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns promptly and professionally.
Requirements
- Proven experience in IT support or help desk roles with a focus on desktop support and network troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.
- Familiarity with computer hardware components and peripherals.
- Experience with network configuration including LAN/WAN setup, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networking.
- Ability to troubleshoot software issues related to Microsoft Office applications and other common business tools.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Knowledge of computer security best practices including firewall configuration and VPN setup is preferred.
