About Unico Power
Unico Power develops Intelligent EV Charging and Energy Management Systems (EMS) for residential and commercial multi-unit buildings. We work closely with property managers, residents, electricians, and contractors to deliver reliable, scalable EV charging solutions.
Every building is different, and every day brings new challenges. We’re at the forefront of the energy transition, creating tech that matters. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, learning new technologies, and making things work.
About the Role
This is not a traditional technician role, and it’s not just a desk job. You will step in as the lead troubleshooter when things get tricky—whether it’s hardware, software, or customer-side.
One day you may be remotely analyzing a network issue, using command lines, or coordinating with a property manager. The next day you’ll be on-site working alongside electricians, using physical probes to test hardware, commissioning equipment, or guiding teammates in the field. We are looking for a steady voice when things get hectic—someone who takes full ownership of issues from start to finish and confidently works with both technology and people.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot EV Charging and Energy Management Systems (EMS) remotely and on-site.
- Support residents, property managers, electricians, contractors, and installation partners.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and operational issues.
- Perform site visits for troubleshooting, inspections, commissioning, and maintenance.
- Coordinate issue resolution between customers, contractors, and internal teams.
- Configure, test, update, and replace equipment when required.
- Maintain accurate documentation and service records.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and customer experience.
- Support the continued growth of Unico Power's operations and service programs.
- Jumping in as the lead troubleshooter when things get tricky—hardware, software, or customer side.
- Guiding teammates in the field and being the steady voice when things get hectic.
- Supporting our deployed systems at customer sites. This includes both remote troubleshooting and on-site work. Our customers include Residential and Commercial multi-unit-residential buildings.
- Understanding the hardware and software of multiple connected power and communication devices as a system.
- Using web interfaces, command line tools, log files, physical probes, and other digital, electrical or mechanical methods to test system components in the field.
- Diagnosing hardware and software problems and correcting them, such as by reconfiguration, update, replacement, or cooperation with other team members.
- Travel to customer buildings (must have a Class 5 Driver’s License and vehicle).
- Continuing improvement of your skills, product knowledge, and workflow including identifying opportunities for tool improvements and automation.
