About Café Apéro
Café Apéro is a mobile coffee and matcha bar serving weddings, corporate events, brand activations, and private celebrations across Ottawa and Gatineau.
We’re not a traditional café. Every event is different, from intimate backyard celebrations to large corporate activations, and our goal is always the same: create a beautiful, high-quality café experience wherever we go.
The Role
We’re looking for reliable, experienced baristas to join our growing event team.
As an Event Barista, you’ll help bring the Café Apéro experience to life from setup to the final drink. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and perfect for someone who loves coffee, people, events, and working in different environments.
Responsibilities
- Prepare espresso-based drinks, matcha, and specialty beverages to a high standard
- Steam milk confidently and consistently
- Provide friendly and professional guest service
- Set up and organize the coffee bar before service
- Keep the workspace clean, stocked, and presentable throughout the event
- Assist with teardown and packing at the end of events
- Help with loading and unloading supplies when required
- Represent Café Apéro professionally at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Previous barista experience required
- Strong espresso and milk-steaming skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Friendly and comfortable interacting with guests
- Strong attention to cleanliness and presentation
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team
- Comfortable working in fast-paced event environments
- Able to lift and move event supplies and equipment
- Flexible availability, especially mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a vehicle
- Bilingual French and English is a strong asset
- Matcha experience is an asset, but training can be provided
Schedule
This is a part-time, event-based position.
Hours vary depending on bookings, and shifts may take place on weekdays, weekends, mornings, afternoons, or evenings.
Events are primarily located throughout Ottawa and Gatineau, with occasional travel outside the region.
This role is best suited for someone with flexible availability who is comfortable with a changing event schedule rather than fixed weekly hours.

Pay: $17.60-$25.00 per hour
