Career Contacts is recruiting on behalf of a leading property management company looking for a Junior Maintenance Technician to join their growing team. This is a hands-on role that’s perfect for someone who enjoys practical work, problem-solving, and contributing to the upkeep and improvement of residential communities. The Junior Maintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Manager and/or the Site Superintendent. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in dynamic work environments.

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 8 hours per day
Pay: $55,000 to $65,000 per year (based on experience)
Locations: Downtown Vancouver, New Westminster, Surrey (travel required between sites)

What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Perform scheduled maintenance tasks and coordinate with external service providers to support overall building upkeep
- Complete assigned work orders and execute routine preventative maintenance
- Carry out general repairs and minor renovations to maintain or upgrade residential units
- Diagnose equipment issues and perform necessary repairs
- Conduct routine building inspections and address urgent or corrective maintenance needs
- Move equipment and machinery using tools such as hoists, dollies, rollers, and pallet jacks
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and support additional duties as required
- Keep work areas clean by removing debris and properly separating recyclables and materials
- Prepare job sites and set up work zones for trades in advance
- Perform hands-on site tasks such as grading, painting, basic carpentry, drywall repairs, demolition, cement/rebar work, and deficiency fixes
- Maintain tools and equipment; notify supervisor when repairs or replacements are needed
- Support the site team with general labour and carpentry tasks
- Receive, unload, and organize deliveries
- Operate mobile equipment as trained and authorized
- Document all maintenance and construction activities in the appropriate management systems
- Communicate with management regarding technical concerns, quality issues, or operational challenges
- Immediately report any injuries, incidents, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor or site HSE coordinator
- Follow all applicable safety regulations, procedures, and technical standards
- Identify potential hazards or unsafe situations and take appropriate action when immediate risks arise
What You Bring:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in maintenance or construction work
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and completing standard maintenance tasks
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision and as a part of a team
- Physically capable of performing duties, including lifting up to 55 lbs and standing for long periods
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is required (properties are located across Vancouver, New Westminster, and Surrey)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required
- Basic carpentry skills are preferred
- Must pass a criminal record check, and be able to provide a driver's abstract
