TJI Multi-Trade Contractors is seeking an experienced HSE Coordinator to provide temporary site coverage for a 10-week assignment at the Imperial Oil Nanticoke Refinery.
We are looking for a safety professional with proven industrial construction experience who is committed to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance while fostering a strong safety culture on site.
Position Details:
- 10-week contract
- Imperial Oil – Nanticoke, Ontario
- 5 x 10-hour shifts (Monday to Friday)
- Shift premium provided
- Overtime premiums paid in accordance with applicable agreements
- Immediate start preferred
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our Health, Safety & Environment program, ensuring compliance with client requirements, company policies, and all applicable legislation.

Responsibilities:
-Provide OH&S orientations to personnel
-Perform field inspections and audits for non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions, behavioral observations.
-Assist in the development of hazard assessments, JSAs/JLAs etc.
-Hold safety meetings (toolbox talks & weekly communications) with the work crews.
-Assist in incident investigations and contribute to root cause analyses.
-Track leading & leading indicators/key performance indicators, corrective actions stemming from incident investigations, audits, inspections, and hazard reports.
-Provide summary reports for clients as required for specific projects.
-Provide advice relating to compliance with Provincial Occupational Health & Safety Legislations (OHSA) and Company Policies & Procedures.
-Act as a resource via mentoring in the field, related to general safety culture.
-Compile statistical data and reports as required
Qualifications & Requirements
- *** Occupational Health and Safety Ontario College Certificate preferred (Occupational Health & Safety Program from Lambton College; or equivalent) preferred/recommended. ***
- A valid, unrestricted Ontario Driver’s License.
- A Driver's Abstract indicating an unrestricted license with no serious traffic safety violations and 4 or fewer convictions of any type in the last 36 months.
- Construction/manufacturing-related OH&S experience, construction craft or skill is considered an asset.
- Demonstrate leadership, coaching, and troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrate effective communication with management and field personnel regarding OH&S.
