Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of meal preparation in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a deli clerk you will learn about differentEuropeanmeats and cheeses, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and presentation of our dishes, building sandwiches, making soups and gathering knowledge on European groceries and contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of the kitchen at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper food handling and storage practices.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Monitor food quality throughout the cooking process, ensuring adherence to food safety regulations.
- Help with inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying management when stock is low.
- Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or the food industry is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food safety standards is essential.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Must be able to follow instructions accurately and demonstrate good time management skills.
- A commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace is crucial.
