.Job Overview
We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join our team as an independent contractor or Staff Pharmacist, as per the Pharmacist's preference.This role is ideal for a pharmacist who is confident in both community pharmacy practice and level B compounding services, and is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently while adhering to all legal and safety regulations.
- Provide expert consultation to healthcare providers regarding medication selection, dosage, interactions, and patient-specific considerations.
- Educate patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and storage instructions to promote adherence and safety.
- Review patient medication profiles for potential drug interactions or contraindications.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of medication dispensing activities in compliance with hospital policies.
- Collaborate with medical staff to develop and update treatment plans involving pharmacological therapies.
- Monitor patient responses to medications and report adverse reactions or concerns promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, hospital policies, and safety standards.
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and auditing medications.
Requirements
- Licensed and in good standing with the Saskatchewan College of Pharmacy Professionals
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD
- Experience or strong interest in compounding pharmacy
- Knowledge of compounding standards and best practices (e.g., non-sterile/sterile techniques)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and safety
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with pharmacy software systems (Kroll is an asset)
- Injection certification and minor ailment prescribing authorization are assets
Pay: $55.00-$65.00 per hour
