An experienced MOA (Medical Office Assistant) is needed for a full-time position in the office of a Family physician, part of the Thames Valley Family Health Team at London Ontario. MOA will be working with one physician and will need to communicate with other team members as needed. Candidates with long-term commitments for the job will be prioritized.
Qualifications:
- Completed Medical Office Assistant certificate
- Previous experience of working in a medical office setting preferred(further training will be provided for office specific responsibilities).
- Customer service experience
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written & oral
- Proficient computer skills with experience in Electronic Medical Record (PS Suite an asset)
- Superior organization and multitasking skills
- Ability to be flexible in a dynamic work environment
- Excellent attendance report
The Medical Office Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
Responsibilities:
· Greeting patients and checking in
· Taking incoming calls and making outgoing phone calls to patients
. Promptly handle all telephone calls coming into the physician's office; inform the physician when necessary
· Receiving incoming faxes and emails, as well as drafting documents for patients, insurance companies,
businesses, hospitals, and other medical businesses.
· Should be comfortable relaying follow up messages from the physician to patients on x-rays, ultrasounds, and other related patient documents
· Experience working with Microsoft Office
-Faxing, scanning and photocopying as required
-maintaining autoclave, vaccine freeze
