We are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Superintendent to oversee residential construction projects from groundbreaking through possession.

Position Summary
The Site Superintendent is responsible for managing all on-site construction activities, ensuring homes are completed safely, on schedule, within quality standards, and in accordance with company expectations. This role serves as the primary point of contact between trades, suppliers, project managers, and homeowners throughout the construction process.
Key ResponsibilitiesConstruction Management
- Manage residential construction projects from excavation through final possession.
- Oversee daily site operations and ensure projects progress according to schedule.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and trades.
- Monitor project timelines and proactively address delays or scheduling conflicts.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality and workmanship standards are maintained.
Quality Control
- Perform quality assurance inspections throughout all construction phases.
- Identify and resolve deficiencies before homeowner possession.
- Ensure homes meet company quality standards and customer expectations.
- Coordinate warranty-related repairs and deficiency corrections when required.
Scheduling & Trade Coordination
- Schedule and manage multiple trades efficiently.
- Ensure materials, equipment, and labour are available when required.
- Maintain accurate construction schedules and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Conduct site meetings and progress reviews with trades and project management.
Health & Safety
- Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized job sites.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address hazards immediately.
- Ensure compliance with Alberta Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
Customer Service & Communication
- Communicate professionally with homeowners throughout the construction process.
- Address homeowner concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain positive working relationships with trades, suppliers, inspectors, and municipal authorities.
- Provide regular progress updates to management.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with Alberta Building Code requirements and municipal regulations.
- Coordinate inspections and occupancy requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Maintain site documentation, reports, and project records.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of residential construction supervision experience.
- Experience managing single-family, custom, and multi-family residential projects.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction practices and Alberta Building Code requirements.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple trades simultaneously.
- Experience managing project schedules and construction timelines.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman trade certification or construction-related education.
- Experience with production home building environments.
- First Aid Certification.
- COR, SECOR, or safety-related certifications.
- Experience with warranty and possession processes.
Technical Skills
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Construction scheduling software
- Builder management software (Buildertrend, Jobtread)
- Digital reporting and documentation tools
- Blueprint and specification review
