Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and responsible senior high school student and/or college/university student to accompany and assist our 59 yr old sister who has Down Syndrome and is living with elderly parents. You will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience, and develop new skills, working with an adult with special needs. This role is ideal for students who are looking for local, part-time employment.
Duties
- Accompany and supervise client on walks to local pool
- Accompany client to local drug stores and shopping markets (by foot)
- Provide basic (non-medical/non personal care) home assistance
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a student in high school, college, or university
- Ability to work independently
- Positive, compassionate and patient disposition
- Reliable and punctual
- Swimming proficiency, considered an asset
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
