Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Dental Administrator to lead the efficient operation of our dental practice. Responsibilities
- Oversee daily administrative functions, including appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, and billing processes using dental practice management software such as Dentrix.
- Manage patient records electronically, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with health information privacy regulations.
- Coordinate with dental professionals and staff to streamline office workflows, including patient flow and treatment scheduling.
- Supervise human resources tasks such as staff scheduling, training new team members, and addressing personnel issues with professionalism.
- Handle insurance claims processing, billing inquiries, and financial transactions efficiently to optimize practice revenue.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and hospital or nursing procedures relevant to dental care to facilitate interdisciplinary communication.
- Assist with budgeting activities, supply inventory management, and procurement to support operational efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience in a dental office setting or medical office environment is essential; familiarity with electronic medical records systems is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience managing administrative or clinical staff within healthcare settings.
- Strong proficiency in Dentrix or similar dental practice management software is required.
- Knowledge of human resources practices related to healthcare teams is desirable.
- Experience working in hospital or acute care environments, including nursing or medical terminology familiarity, will be considered an asset.
- Background in budgeting, financial management, or resource planning within healthcare organizations is advantageous.
