The Role
We’re looking for a hardworking, dependable Excavation Crew Member to become the right-hand support to our Site Foreman (Excavator Operator) as part of a two-man crew.
This is a physically demanding, hands-on position that combines labour with skid steer operation.
This is not a full-time skid steer operating position.
Some days you’ll spend several hours in the skid steer. Other days you’ll spend most of the day working beside the excavator, helping complete projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
Your responsibilities include:
Operating the skid steer throughout the day as required.
Assisting the excavator operator with excavation activities.
Trenching and safely exposing underground utilities.
Setting Lock Blocks and retaining wall materials.
Loading, grading, backfilling, and compacting.
Material handling.
Grade checking and assisting with layouts.
Preparing sites for concrete and utility installation.
Site cleanup and organization.
Supporting the foreman in every aspect of the project.
Doing whatever it takes to keep the project moving safely and efficiently.
Every day is different, which makes this an excellent opportunity to build a wide variety of excavation skills while working directly beside an experienced operator.

Requirements
Minimum 2 years of skid steer operating experience.
Valid BC Driver’s Licence (non-negotiable).
Driver’s Abstract required upon hiring.
Must live in Kelowna, West Kelowna, or Lake Country.
Comfortable performing physically demanding labour every day.
Confident operating a skid steer safely and efficiently.
Able to work directly under the Site Foreman as part of a two-man crew.
Willing to do whatever it takes to complete the job safely and efficiently.
Drug-free and safety-focused.
Zero-tolerance safety policy in place.
