The Research Coordinator will provide evidence-based behavioural coaching and education to individuals who use nicotine, helping them progress towards cessation while participating in clinical research. You will play a key role in participant engagement, data quality, and study integrity. This position is ideal for professionals with experience coaching patients or clients and a passion for improving health outcomes through research.

Conduct coaching calls with participants and accurately document all interactions and outcomes in the relevant trackers.

Collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary research team – including the lead research coordinator, research manager, pharmacists, and principal investigator – as needed to support study operations.

Prepare, maintain, and organize study documentation and reporting materials in accordance with protocol and organizational standards.

Attend project weekly team meetings and weekly lab meetings.

Bachelor of Science (BSc) in health-related field or graduate from a research program (College level) and previous employment as a pharmacist.

Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical research, patient coaching, counselling, or health behaviour change.

Experience in tobacco cessation clinical research (in a Research Assistant or Research Coordinator role).

Strong knowledge of evidence-based coaching techniques (e.g. motivational interviewing).

Knowledge of nicotine replacement therapy and associated cessation medications.

Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize workload.

Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of data and adherence to protocol requirements.

Fluency in both English and French is preferred.

Demonstrated, up-to-date knowledge of nicotine dependence literature.

Demonstrated knowledge of behaviour change coaching techniques.

Demonstrated clinical research experience.

Intensive training will be provided to the selected candidate to prepare for the position.

Regular interaction with study participants, including potentially sensitive or complex situations.

This position is hybrid, with a combination of on-site and remote work.
