OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in large-scale enterprise project delivery within financial services to support strategic business and operational initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional partners — including business leaders, operations, technology teams, vendors, and executive stakeholders — to lead the planning, execution, governance, and delivery of complex programs across the organization.
This role is ideal for a proactive, highly organized professional who excels in structured enterprise environments and is comfortable managing multiple stakeholders, integrated delivery plans, financial oversight, and governance activities within a regulated banking environment.
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 2 days in office weekly across various downtown office locations)
Contract Length: 4+ Months (Extension Possible)
Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Pay: T4 $: 80 / IC: $92
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and direct large-scale, complex enterprise projects involving multiple business units, technology teams, vendors, and external partners.
- Define, plan, orchestrate, and deliver strategic initiatives across business, operational, and technology workstreams.
- Manage all phases of the project lifecycle including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, reporting, governance, and delivery.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, timelines, milestones, resource plans, contingency plans, and other key project artifacts.
- Ensure alignment between business objectives, project scope, and measurable business outcomes.
- Facilitate and chair governance forums including Steering Committees, Operating Committees, and executive project briefings.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels, including executive leadership.
- Monitor project scope, risks, dependencies, issues, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful delivery within agreed parameters.
- Provide regular status reporting, project updates, recommendations, and escalation management to leadership teams.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across business, operations, compliance, and technology groups to support successful implementation and transition activities.
- Support vendor and supplier management activities including coordination, oversight, and delivery tracking.
- Contribute to enterprise project management best practices, governance standards, and delivery consistency across the organization.
- Ensure project compliance with enterprise governance, audit, risk, and regulatory standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of progressive project management experience within large financial institutions or enterprise banking environments.
- Proven experience leading large-scale enterprise programs involving business, operational, and technology stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of Waterfall project delivery methodologies and enterprise governance frameworks.
- Experience managing integrated delivery plans, project financials, forecasting, resource planning, and executive reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder environments and communicate effectively with executive leadership teams.
- Strong experience facilitating governance meetings, steering committees, and cross-functional project forums.
- Experience working within broader program or portfolio structures while managing competing priorities and dependencies.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Project and enterprise project management tools.
- Strong communication, organizational, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and determine when escalation is appropriate.
Preferred
- Experience supporting AML-related initiatives or regulatory programs within banking environments.
- Previous experience within large Canadian banking organizations.
- Familiarity with enterprise risk, audit, compliance, and governance frameworks.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management designation is considered an asset.
