Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality standards and safety compliance. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where mechanical knowledge and familiarity with manufacturing processes are highly valued. Candidates should have experience with hand tools, power tools, and basic math skills to accurately complete painting tasks and support production operations.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking as needed
- Apply paint, coatings, or finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment with precision
- Operate and maintain equipment such as cranes or forklifts when necessary for material handling
- Assist in the setup and teardown of work areas to ensure safety and efficiency
- Support manufacturing processes through assembly and machining tasks as required
- Follow safety protocols including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of tools and materials
- Perform inspections to ensure paint quality meets specifications and standards
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste properly
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining quality
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing equipment and processes
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques
- Experience operating cranes, forklifts, or other heavy machinery is a plus
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during application processes
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow
- Ability to read technical drawings or assembly instructions
- Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
