About the Role
WF Group of Companies is a leading Steel & Crane fabrication manufacturer committed to delivering high-quality fabricated steel and crane products to customers across a variety of industries. We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Shipping Coordinator to oversee the daily coordination of outbound shipments and ensure products are delivered safely, accurately, and on schedule.
The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing environment, understands the logistics involved in shipping fabricated steel products, and can effectively coordinate with production, warehouse, and transportation partners to meet customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate daily shipments of fabricated steel and metal products to customers and project sites.

Schedule and communicate freight pickups with flatbed, step deck, LTL, FTL, and specialized carriers.

Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, shipping labels, and customer-required paperwork.

Work closely with Production (Plant Superintendents and Forman’s), Quality (QC Managers and Supervisors), teams to prioritize shipments and meet delivery schedules.

Work closely with Transport drivers with continuous communication in a small team atmosphere.

Track shipments and provide timely updates to internal stakeholders and customers.

Resolve shipping discrepancies, and delivery issues in a professional and timely manner.

Maintain accurate shipping records and inventory transactions.

Obtain freight quotations and recommend cost-effective transportation solutions while meeting customer delivery requirements.

Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, customer shipping standards, and company safety procedures.

Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on shipping accuracy, efficiency, and on-time delivery performance.
Qualifications

3–5 years of shipping, logistics, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably metal fabrication or steel manufacturing.

High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business is an asset.

Experience coordinating shipments of oversized, heavy, or custom-fabricated products is preferred.

Knowledge of flatbed, step deck, oversized load, LTL, and FTL transportation methods.

Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Ability to read production schedules, shipping documentation, and customer purchase orders.

Familiarity with export documentation and customs requirements is considered an asset.

Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Preferred Skills

Experience working in a fast-paced fabrication or industrial manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of shipping methods for heavy industrial products and proper load securement requirements.

Ability to coordinate multiple customer orders while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
