Job Summary
Ontario Flower Growers is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Controller to support inventory accuracy and operational efficiency across the business.
This is a full-time, long-term role.
This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records through regular audits, order verification, troubleshooting discrepancies, and working closely with multiple departments including Warehouse, Marketplace, Sales, and Receiving. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while balancing daily operational priorities and long-term inventory control initiatives. This role is early mornings Monday-Friday and will involve frequent time in the cooler.
Duties
- Conduct daily inventory audits and cycle counts across multiple departments
- Verify inbound and outbound orders to ensure inventory accuracy
- Investigate and troubleshoot inventory discrepancies and variances
- Monitor inventory movement throughout the facility including cooler and warehouse areas
- Work closely with Receiving, Marketplace, Warehouse, and Sales teams to maintain accurate inventory levels
- Assist with product tracking, adjustments, and inventory reconciliation
- Audit picked orders and verify product accuracy prior to customer delivery or pickup
- Review inventory reports and identify trends or recurring issues
- Support quality control processes related to inventory handling and product movement
- Ensure inventory systems and records are updated accurately and efficiently
- Assist with process improvements to strengthen inventory accuracy and operational flow
- Support operational needs during peak floral holidays and high-volume periods
- Maintain organized records and documentation related to inventory processes
- Communicate inventory concerns and operational issues to management promptly
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Comfortable working with inventory systems and operational reports
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically active environment
- Dependable and reliable with strong time management skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required
- Able to work in a cooler environment for long periods of time with large amounts of standing.
- Experience in floral, produce, warehouse, or distribution industries considered an asset
