Job Summary:
Ed’s Concrete is looking for a skilled Carpenter to support our precast concrete operations, with a focus on building custom molds and assisting in the setting up of precast products such as apartment steps. This role requires precision, problem-solving, and hands-on experience in formwork carpentry. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in the shop, ensuring high-quality molds and efficient workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, modify, and maintain custom wood and metal molds for precast concrete products
- Interpret shop drawings and measurements to fabricate accurate, reusable forms
- Prepare molds for pouring, including assembly, rebar, and application of release agents
- Strip, clean, and repair molds after use to maintain production quality
- Work with multiple mediums to create custom molds: wood, styrofoam, vinyl, steel, etc.
- Assist with the setup of precast concrete steps and related components
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and company standards
Qualifications:
- Experience in carpentry
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints
- Strong measuring, layout, and fabrication skills
- Experience building forms/molds with tight tolerances is an asset
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and perform manual labor
